This Winchester M1 Garand came from a collector who was a friend of Alan Lever - founder of Lever Arms. The collector selected about 20 out of about 400 M1 Garand in the back storage of Lever Arms in abound 1997 when the M1 Garand first arrived Canada from Denmark. From the mouth of Mr. Alan Lever, Denmark traded these M1 Garands for Machines with NORINCO. NORINCO had no use of the M1s and sold them to Lever Arms. Due to arms transport restrictions, they were shipped by air first to England and then to Canada.
This nice sample is still covered in protective cosmoline and is the same condition as it first arrived Canada. Never been decreased nor fired in Canada. From the markings on the barrel, this one should be with the original Winchester Barrel. Two similar ones sold in gunsinternational.com in 2022 for US$4850 and US$4950 as shown in the second and third screen shot photo.
This one has serial number 2422xx0 and was made around April 1944.
Comes with original WW2 M1 Garand Sling and two clips as shown in the photos.
Two Muzzle Erosion Gauge A and B shown .3015
All the photos of this firearm were taken in February, 2022.
