Note: Our "XD Extended Mag Release" might be blocked by our "Tactical Recoil Control Thumb Rest" when installed together in some models. Grinding off 1/16" (1mm) of the contact portion of the thumb rest can solve this problem.

Installation:
*Fits over the existing 'Trigger Housing Pin' location and no modification are required.
Warning
1. Due to the design and material that the 'Grip Safety Spring' is made of, it can be easily broken even under normal 'Disassembly and Reassembly of the Firing Mechanism'. Our company will not be held liable if the 'Grip Safety Spring' is broken during installation of our thumb rest. Replacement 'Grip Safety Spring' can be purchased from Springfield USA.
2. Always wear eye protection if assembly or disassembly of firearms is required.
3. Make sure the firearm is unloaded before installation begins.
4. We have use the following procedures to installing the thumb rest for over 30 times and encounter no broken 'Grip Safety Spring'. If you are not comfortable with the installation procedures described below, please have the work done by a qualified gunsmith.
There is a 'Grip Safety Spring' housed inside the grip safety. The following method is required to prevent it form coming loose. Once loose, you have to take out the whole firing mechanism and reassemble it and described on 'Reassembly of the Firing Mechanism'on youtube.
Warning - Use a light hammer to drive the replacement pin in and all along making sure both pins are in contact or the 'Grip Safety Spring' might come loose. If you feel strong resistance after the original pin been out for about 0.23" (6mm), the 'Grip Safety Spring' might already come loose, stop driving the replacement pin in or the 'Grip Safety Spring' might get broken. Disassemble the firing mechanism using the thinner drift pin enclosed in the package and reassemble the firing mechanism using the replacement pin.
1. Use the replacement trigger housing pin to drift out the existing "Trigger Housing Pin"
2. Use the enclosed drift pin to adjust the replacement trigger housing pin even on both sides.
3. Force the Recoil Control Thumb Rest into position.

When the optional 'GripPlus' memory groove is taped onto the grip safety, it provides a more positive activation force. We use the strongest double side tape available on the market and it would not come loose easily during normal use. To purchase one, simply add $3.50 to the winning bid.

Message from one of our customer regarding installation of the Tactical Recoil Control Thumb Rest for XD pistol on a XD sub-compact pistol
Just a little info for you that you may want to let people know about. On the Springfield XD Sub-Compact, the grip safety pin has a ridge on it in which the spring catches on. When pushed out with the replacement trigger housing pin, it causes the grip safety pin to snap. Mine had snapped in several pieces. I believe that the spring is not made well enough which caused this. It broke very easily. I think you may want to put this on you site and possible let the XD owners know about the spring. Nothing wrong with your product at all and I'll leave positive feedback. Just a poorly made spring. I'll bring my gun in to get a new spring as it's only a month old and I'll also write to Springfield to let them know about the cheap spring they put in..
